HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
October 18, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 8
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow our 8th grade students from Queen of the Universe Parish will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. I ask for your prayers for these students as they take this most important step in their faith formation by becoming full members of the Catholic Church. It is through this sacrament that the baptized are sealed with the Holy Spirit and strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. Please join me in praying for them on this most special occasion!
As a result of the Confirmation Mass, school will be dismissing at 11:30 AM (11:00 AM for PK), tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19. There will be no after school CARES. All buses will be available to take home students except for Bensalem.
During the school year, families choose to take vacations. This practice is strongly discouraged, as students miss valuable instructional time. Should a family vacation be scheduled, and the student will miss school, advance notice must be provided to the teacher and the school, and all missed work must be made up upon return to school. Teachers are not responsible to provide schoolwork to the student prior to the start of the vacation. Please see our Family Handbook for more information about this issue.
This week marks the mid-point of our first trimester. Please check the gradebook in FACTS to see how your child is doing and reach out to your child’s teacher with any specific concerns. On November 7-8, we will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences. During this conference, specific concerns can be discussed regarding your child’s progress. Please look for a sign-up link coming soon!
On Tuesday, November 1, we will begin wearing the winter uniform. Specifics about the winter uniform are provided in this newsletter. Please be attentive to the specifics of the winter uniform as we plan to wear the uniform as specified in our Family Handbook. It is not too late to check the Swap Shop if you are missing items for the winter uniform.
This Friday we will be celebrating the Hawk Walk! The Hawk Walk is our biggest school fundraiser of the year. It is a day filled with fun for our students and we look for our families to join as they are able. Please see the schedule for the day and additional Hawk Walk information in this newsletter. For students who make their individual goal of $125, they will get their name on a footprint that will be hung in the hallway by the front office under our Hawk Walk banner. These students will also get a ticket placed into a drawing for a Holy Family Spiritwear basket! For each additional donation of $125, a ticket will go into the drawing! I thank all our students and families for your support of Hawk Walk 2022! See you on Friday!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend!

Pray the Rosary as a family!
