Red Ribbon Week is when we confirm that we will always stay drug free! Each day of Red Ribbon Week we will show our spirit and commitment to remain drug free with a different activity each day.

Halloween is Monday, October 31st!

We love Halloween at Wilson! On Monday, October 31st you may wear a costume to school. However, there are a few guidelines:



  1. Students may wear facial makeup. Make-up needs to be applied before coming to school and should not cover the entire face or make it difficult to recognize the student.
  2. Costumes should be appropriate and not depict gangs, horror characters, or inappropriate individuals/topics.
  3. Costumes may NOT include any weapons. Students may not bring props that replicate guns, knives, or weapons of any kind.
  4. Shoes must be safe. (Regular dress code applies: no flip flops, slippers, open toed, or high heels).
  5. Students may not wear masks that cover their face. Masks may be brought to school and worn on top of the student’s head, but not covering their face. (There will be a “best mask” category during the PE costume contest.
  6. Costumes should not affect the instructional day. If your costume will make it difficult for you to sit in class, please be sure to be able to remove the costume during class time.

Make up Picture day-October 27th!

If you missed picture day last month or your picture didn't come out the way you wanted it, Thursday October 27th is your second chance. Make-up pictures will be taken in the auditorium lobby. Click here for an order form. If you are doing a retake, bring the old pictures with you to return to the photo company. 6th graders will take pictures during 1st period, 7th graders will take pictures during 2nd period, and 8th graders will take pictures during 4th period. The picture company will be here during snack as well.

Our first concert of the year!

Wilson Music Presents the Fall Music Concert, our first concert of the year, THIS upcoming Wednesday, October 26th, at 6:00 PM. The concert will feature: Advanced String Orchestra, Choir, Drumline, & Wind Ensemble. Tickets are available for $3 each if you pre-order by Tuesday, October 25th. Otherwise, tickets are $5 at the Auditorium Door the night of the concert (cash or check only). Come support and enjoy a night of great music!

Free Tutoring

Come and get help with school work from a talented high school student who used to be a Wilson student. He will be here to help on Monday-Thursday from 4:15-5:00 in Ms. Wilson's room, 1222.

Onigiri Action!

This month the students of the Japanese Class have been participating in "Onigiri Action" - a one-month event (-11/6) in which many schools and individuals in the U.S. and participate by posting photos of Onigiri (rice ball in Japanese), Onigiri crafts, or Onigiri hand signs on the Onigiri Action website and social media with #OnigiriAction. Each post will provide 5 school meals for children in need. Here is the information on how to participate. Please join the Wilson Japanese class in changing the world!!

Sports Update

Congratulations to our basketball and soccer teams for games well played last Thursday and to our cheerleaders and mascot for bringing the spirit!


Our next game is this Thursday against Roosevelt at Roosevelt. Please remember that Wilson students are not allowed to attend away games unless you are with your parent to watch a sibling compete. However, be sure to wish our athletes good luck!

Chromebook Tip of the Week!

Chromebooks must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, or labels. You may only have a small piece of painter tape with your first and last name written on it. If you need a piece of painter's tape, ask your history teacher or stop by the library.

Expectations for success

There are a few important rules we would like you to always remember:


Be Safe!

  • Don't walk through the staff parking lot
  • Stay in the designated areas (Gauntlet, Tripidome, lunch benches, field) during snack and lunch
  • Wash your hands frequently and/or use hand sanitizer
  • Follow directions
  • Stay home if you're sick
  • Bring your own water bottle


Good Attendance!

  • Be at school every day
  • Be on time
  • Call the office if you are absent
  • Bring your Chromebook fully charged and in its case


Cell Phones!

  • Phones are Silent and put away on campus
  • If we see it, it will be confiscated!


Keep Wilson Clean!

  • Put your trash in the garbage can
  • Keep food outside
  • Keep our bathrooms clean


Dress Appropriately!

  • Shorts/Skirts must be mid-thigh length
  • Hats/hoods outside only
  • No excessively ripped jeans
  • Stomach, back and underwear shouldn't show
  • Closed toe and closed heel shoes only-NO SANDALS OR CROCS!

  • Browse the exciting choices and select your item(s)
  • Go to the PBIS/ASB Store at room 2115 (Bottom floor of the 2000 building near the basketball courts) and tell the clerk you ID number to pick up your reward!
