ACE Mini PD for Leaders
Data Meeting Sample: October 2017
Dear Administrators,
At this time, you are wrapping up your data meetings from the first district-wide common assessment. I appreciate your willingness to implement the Uncommon Schools/Paul Bambrick Data meeting protocol. This protocol focuses on the standards, the exemplar, the student work, the gap, and then the reteach. The beauty of the protocol is the specificity. We target the exact learning goals and gaps, then actually create the scripted reteach with either modeling or guided discourse.
Laura Garza provided us a video example of a data meeting (linked below). Please take time to view it and consider the following;
- What preparation is required of the principal before leading the meeting?
- What preparation should teachers complete?
- What are key guiding questions to plan ahead?
- What products do teachers leave the meeting with ready to use?
- What are the follow up steps for administrators?
If you have additional questions or needs - we are eager to assist! Our goal is for principals to lead first. We want to master and model the data meeting, then support our assistant principals in leading these meetings for their content areas.
Thanks for jumping in.
Best wishes for productive meetings,
JH
