The details of candidate filing can be found on the St. Louis County Board of Election website at https://extcontent.stlouisco.com/BOE/FIO/Candidate%20Filings.pdf
School board members serve three year terms. The two positions on the Kirkwood Board of Education will be decided in the April 2, 2024 municipal election.
A candidate forum by the League of Women Voters is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Keating Theatre at Kirkwood High School.
Inclement Weather Reminders
Second semester is also a time when we may have some inclement weather. When the Kirkwood School District experiences inclement weather conditions, safety is the most important consideration. The superintendent will decide whether to cancel school due to inclement weather with the safety of students and staff as the top priority.
There are several ways you will be notified in the event a weather emergency is declared:
Families will receive a phone call, text and email from the District (using our mass communication system), announcing the decision to cancel school. An annual test of our automatic notification system was conducted in October. The successful delivery of this phone call is dependent on there being accurate contact information for each student. If your contact information changes, please notify your child’s school immediately.
Information can also be found on KSD’s website (kirkwoodschools.org) and social media sites: Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/KirkwoodSchoolDistrict) or X (@kwoodschools).
You may listen or watch for announcements on TV. Please note that stations report this information at various times and in various formats and that stations may change their participation. School closing is also posted on the websites for many of these stations including KSDK Channel 5 (NBC), KMOV Channel 4 (CBS), KTVI Channel 2 (Fox) and KPLR Channel 11 (CW).
