This week we will be finishing our Main idea and Theme unit. Students will be reviewing all the learning standards by participating in various reading stations. Students will be given the district ELA benchmark covering all of the first semesters learning standards. This is assessed on Study Island. Students can prepare for this by practicing on study island ELA at home.
Don't forget to have your student read every night, even over Winter Break! Its important that students do not lose important reading skills and stamina.
This week students are going to be learning about symmetry and constructing figures that are perfectly symmetrical.
Math Folder: Folders will be coming home today. Please work with your student every night to help improve their math fact fluency!!
- I have added in a multiplication timed test that you can give your child. Set a time for 4 mins and have them answer as many as they can. Go over it with them and review the ones they missed.
This week we are continuing to work on our Literary Essay. Students are using research note-cards to find specific evidence from their book to support their main ideas and supporting details.
When we finish this unit the Literary Essays will be published on our Blog.
