FROM THE PRINCIPAL...TONY WHITE
As you read this week's eNews, Norton Creek will be celebrating Amy Geyer's distinguished career in D303 and upcoming retirement. Mrs. Geyer will retire after 37 years of teaching first graders at Lincoln and Norton Creek Elementary Schools. That comes out to roughly 925 students she has directly impacted over the years. However, when we consider the interconnectedness of school, she's touched the lives of thousands - through collaborating with and mentoring teachers and teaching friends of other students. Henry Adams says that a teacher affects eternity; he/she can never tell where his/her influence stops, and Mrs. Geyer is the embodiment of this quote.
Amy started teaching at Norton Creek when we first opened in 2003. We have never had a moment in which she was not a part of our school, and we never will. Even when she no longer works here, her passion and compassion will always be part of the fabric that makes up our school. Amy, on behalf of our Norton Creek community, I hope you enjoy retirement and know that our doors are always open to you.
If your child has or has had Mrs. Geyer, please, be sure to send her some love and well-wishes as she wraps up an amazing 37-year career teaching...as she puts it..."the most joyful people on the planet."
Have a wonderful weekend with your favorite people in the world, Norton Creek!
