Keeping up with the Redhawks! August 5, 2022 Edition
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
Dear Rock Creek Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year!
As we embark on the beginning of the school year, I find myself immensely proud of the hard work our Rock Creek staff is putting in to support student success this year!
Our custodial and maintenance team has been hard at work ensuring a clean and safe environment for our students and staff to return to, including leveled concrete to reduce trips and falls, resurfacing, sealing, and painting our blacktop areas and parking lot, painting the front office, and installing new and updated signage around campus. It looks fantastic! Our instructional and teaching staff is hard at work prepping their learning spaces, engaging in professional development, and collaborating to create engaging and rigorous learning environments for your students. The office team is here to support you with data confirmation, enrollment, and answer questions. Our dedicated staff, students, and community make Rock Creek the best!
We are also excited to kick off our school year with an updated school logo! Many thanks to our panel of parents and staff in selecting our new logo that was created by one of our Whitney High School students who is also a Rock Creek alum!
I am ecstatic to start the year with our Red Hawks and can't wait to see you all at our Meet the Teacher/Popsicles with the Principal event on Tuesday, August 9th, from 10-11.
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
Warmly,
Bevin Graham
Principal

Drop-Off Procedures
As we work hard to keep our students and staff healthy and safe on campus, please follow the following drop-off procedures:
- Students are welcome on campus between 7:40 and 7:50 and will head straight to their classrooms in the morning. When you hear the music playing, you know that the campus is open!
- Families of preschool through 1st-grade families may walk their child to his/her classroom in the morning for the first two weeks of school. Please exit campus after dropping your student off.
- Please practice kindness and patience with each other in the school drop-off lines.
- The kindergarten drop-off is for drop-off only. If you would like to walk your TK/Kindergartener to class, please park along the street or in the parking lot.
- Bus lanes are for buses only.
- When using the drop-off lanes, please remain in your car and pull forward.
- Please follow all signs and staff directions as we work to keep our campus safe.
RUSD's Health and Safety Information for the 2022-2023 School Year
- Our district sent out our health and safety guidance as it relates to COVID-19 last week. It is linked here for you if you missed it and is available on our district's website.
- If you are on campus during school hours, it is required that you sign in at the office. This helps us keep our kids, staff, and you safe!
- Our school conducts monthly safety drills. If we conduct a lockdown drill, you will receive a note from the office ahead of time so that families may have conversations with their children to help ease nerves that we know these cause for some of our students.
