News From The View

Skyview Upper Elementary School

From Mrs. Berical

Dear Families,

It was wonderful to come together this afternoon to celebrate our Philadelphia Eagles at our Skyview Super Bowl Pep Rally! We would like to thank the members of the Skyview Band, the Methacton High School Cheerleaders and the Skyview Student Council members for their participation in the pep rally! I would also like to thank our Home and School Association for their partnership with this fun event for our students.

This afternoon, we took time to discuss the qualities the Philadelphia Eagles display that helped lead the team to the Super Bowl. Our Skyview students heard from myself as well as Sgt. Stead on how they can demonstrate the qualities of teamwork, perseverance, respect and responsibility at Skyview and in our greater Methacton community. Ask your child how they feel they have demonstrated any of these qualities at Skyview recently or how they can show demonstrate them in the future.

Overall, we want our students to recognize that when we do our best to make good choices every day, we work together to make our school, our community and our world a better place!

As a reminder, we will be operating on a 2 hour delay schedule on Monday. This opportunity is so families can spend quality time with one another in support of our Hometown Eagles while minimizing the impact of potential operational challenges.

Start times for Monday can be found by clicking here.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Berical

Band and Orchestra Families

Dear Families of Band & Orchestra,

As part of the music department, specific expectations have been set for the students so that when they come together as a full band they are able to bring their best self and be a contributing member to the band and or orchestra. This means that students are expected to practice each week and be responsible for their instrument at home and at school. Students who are not practicing at home are negatively impacting the ability to for the full band and orchestra to perform to their full capacity. You can help your child by setting a specific time for them to practice each week along with a timer that they can set for a specific amount of time.

Students should practice at a minimum of three times a week for at least 15 minutes.

I greatly appreciate your help in encouraging your child to practice their instrument!

Cafeteria

If your child is getting a school breakfast or lunch, it is important that they have their student ID ready to use when they go through the cafeteria line. Having the ID ready speeds up the process of moving through the line. Please remind your child to bring their ID to school each day and to have it easily accessible at breakfast and lunch.

In addition, please remind your child that appropriate behavior is expected in the cafeteria. Manners such as saying please and thank you, throwing trash away and cleaning their space after they are finished eating is expected. We greatly appreciate you discussing these expectations with your child so that we can work together to provide a more pleasurable dining experience.
