This Week in 1st Grade:

Math: The rigor of our Math curriculum is definitely apparent in the Module 1 Math Test. I will be sharing the results with you at conferences. These tests are not on the 1st quarter report card. We will not be starting Module 2 which focuses on using place value to add and subtract numbers within 20.

Reading: We are beginning our next play called Baa Baa Black Sheep. We will continue to work on fluency while practicing our roles this week and also talking about pausing and coming to a full stop while reading.

Writing: We are finishing up our letters to Santa and learning how to use a rough draft to create a final copy! I will be sure to send a copy of their letter that they send to Santa home so you can see what they wrote! They are very excited!

Social Studies: This week we will be wrapping up our Unit on Families and they will be taking an Oral Assessment stating ways that families are different, how they can change, and also how their families are the same in any way (physical attributes: hair, eyes, skin color, etc.)

**CVCe pattern words with a long A sound.**
