AR GRADES FOR 2ND NINE WEEKS - STUDENTS IN GRADES 1ST - 5TH
January 9th is the end of the 9 weeks. If your student has not reached their AR goal for the 2nd nine weeks, the two week break is a great time to finish reading and be ready to take AR tests when we return in the new year.
HOLIDAY APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE
Special thanks to all the parents and family members who gave so much of their time and talent helping shop for and set up the holiday shop and assist our young shoppers with their selections. It is not only a wonderful learning experience for our students, but brings them such joy to be able to surprise family members with personally selected gifts.

Holiday Happenings at Historic City Hall
Historic City Hall is open Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. with free admission.
Calcasieu Parish Student Art is on view the entire month of December in the second floor gallery
T.S. Cooley artists: Arya Gonzales James, Clara Whatley, Chloe Champagne, Wynn Miller, Samuel Dennis Heurtas, Grant Briles, and Elena Rosti will have art on display.
Snow Village Collection is on view the entire month of December in the second floor gallery
A 700-piece collection featuring lighted houses, a skating rink, and ski run is on loan from the McNeese Foundation. The late Mrs. Nancy Stone Crowe annually displayed the Snow Village in her home.

Millennium Park will feature special, extended hours for the holiday season to allow children the opportunity to visit this Winter Wonderland of Christmas lights. Beginning Friday, December 2, the park will stay open until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday nights. NEW TO OUR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - STUDENT EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND AWARDS
T.S. Cooley has many students that shine here and away from campus. We showcase many of their accomplishments at school in our yearbook, shine boards, morning assemblies and awards days. After hearing about so many of their outside accomplishments we have decided to add a shine board to our weekly newsletters. We have many athletes, musicians, dancers, singers and other talented students who we would like to showcase. If you would like to share their accomplishments, please send a jpg photo and a short paragraph explaining the photo with details about the activity, length of time they have been participating, type of honor they are receiving or other information to firstname.lastname@example.org We will begin posting these next week.

Calling all parent photographers. Yearbook can use your help. If you have photos from field trips, school events or activities, please share here! Please submit no more than 5 pictures from an event/activity. Be aware that pictures are not guaranteed to be in the yearbook. Reminder: close pictures of groups of students are preferred with students facing forward.
Tues. 12/13 - Mandarin orange chicken with Asian noodles
Wed. 12/14 -Turkey roast with rice dressing (this is a change from the CPSB menu for Cooley only)
Thurs. 12/15 - Hot dogs and French fries (this is a change from the CPSB menu for Cooley only)
Fri. 12/16- Calzones (this is a change from the CPSB menu for Cooley only)
Mon. 1/1- Chicken nuggets and macaroni & cheese
If there are any changes to the menu, we will send a text message through the automated school system.
Monthly menus are posted on the CPSB social media outlets.
