Friday Notes

February 11, 2022

Re-enrollment contracts are due today - please stop by the office your family needs a copy.

COVID Update

We fully recognize the incredible burden COVID has placed on our school community. We, too, have felt the weight of this pandemic. We are both hopeful and excited about the new guidance coming our way; in anticipation of this new guidance, we have started planning some of our annual school traditions for the spring. Like many of you, we are excited for our school to feel more like a school and to celebrate our students in a more conventional and traditional manner.

Masking Update

The state will be revisiting its masking guidance for schools on or around February 28. At the time of this publication, current guidance states that, "if the mask mandate is not extended, masks should no longer be required for all those eligible for vaccination when the vaccination rate among students is equal to or greater than 80% of the school's currently eligible population."

Based on family attestation, our school's vaccination rate of those eligible is 73%. If your student has been vaccinated and you have not yet completed the attestation form, please complete the attestation form immediately.

Testing Update

Great news! The state extended its invitation for Vermont's Test at Home program to independent schools on Monday, February 7. Within minutes of receiving this invitation, the school submitted its intent to participate and ordered tests! Once we receive the tests, we will begin rolling out this new program to our families.

Next Week Is (OUR) Catholic Schools Week!

As a reminder, here is how we will focus our week of celebration!

Saint Vincent De Paul- Bring in non-perishable food donations for the food shelf.

Saint Jerome- Bible quizzing each day for morning assembly

Saint Elizabeth of Hungary: The lunch staff surprises 1 lower school and 1 upper school student each day with a sticker on their lunch trays, which earns a prize.

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha: Use the paper bags from breakfast to create something; we’ll make a display of the creations for display in the hallway.

Last Minute 'Discount' Citrus Deal

From Mr. Close and the 8th Graders:

Hey folks - if you missed the deadline or you'd like to give a few grapefruits or oranges to someone in need - we have a couple of cases left. You can buy a case, half case, or a quarter case at discount prices! We'd rather sell the remaining fruit at a discount instead of it just going bad. We'll be selling at the main entrance to the school. Thanks for all of the support with this fundraiser.

BJAMS Spirit Wear/Apparel

If you ordered BJAMS apparel, it will be sent home with your student today!

Carnation Sale - Monday, February 14!

Students will have the opportunity to purchase a carnation (or more!) during the school day. Many thanks to the PTO for their organization of this event!
