Each quarter we meet with our student body to go over behavioral expectations with them. Many times, the things we discuss are issues being reported by students and staff. We want our students to be actively engaged in their learning, therefore we have created a venue through Town Hall Meetings in which they can speak up. Today (August 31, 2018) we met with our 7th and 8th grade students during their support period to review behavioral expectations and to inform them of upcoming events.

Cell Phone: Only permitted when required by teacher. We have the needed technology in our classrooms.

Dress Code: Follow rules in the handbook. If you or your child think that the outfit is slightly inappropriate or may not fall within the guidelines, please do not send them to school with that outfit.

Food and Water Bottles: All food should be consumed in the cafeteria. No outside delivery of food (Pizza, Subway, McDonalds, etc.). Students may have CLEAR PLASTIC water bottles, that are only filled with water--No pop, coffee, energy drinks, etc.

Hall Passes: Students cannot be in the halls without a teacher issued pass.

Study Hall Behavior: Study halls are to be quiet. Students may go to the library during their study hall period if a class is not in there. Students may get a Chromebook from their teacher, PRIOR to entering study hall.

Football Games: We encourage all students to attend social functions, including athletic contests at Learwood and at the High School. All school rules apply to any school sponsored event (Home or Away). Students should remain in the stands during the football game.

Spirit Week: Each day will have a theme, and will conclude with a student staff volleyball game. There will be daily and a full week contest between homerooms and teams. Please encourage your student to participate in the festivities.

We are looking for parent volunteers to sell concession items during the Learwood football and volleyball games starting next week. Sports concessions are Learwood PTA's biggest fundraiser. ALL students and staff members benefit from the funds raised through PTA sponsored events such as School Assemblies, 8th Grade Recognition, and Staff Appreciation.
