Principal's Update

This week we had parent-teacher conferences and it was great to see the many parents that were in the building learning more about their children's classes and academic progress. This week we have another conference day this week Tuesday 10/5.


When are Parent Teacher Conferences for the first semester at Strongsville High School?

  • Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on TUES October 5th from 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm.


Where and how will Parent Teacher Conferences take place?

  • This year we are pleased to announce that you will have the opportunity to select from 3 different ways to hold Parent Teacher Conferences. You can select to have a scheduled phone conference, Google Meet (virtual platform), or an in person Face-to-Face conference.


How do you sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences for the first semester?

  • Please use this LINK

  • Please select the teachers you would like to have a conference with and fill out the Form.


What you need to know for in person Face-to-Face Parent Teacher Conferences.

  • Please note that the primary option that we are asking for Conferences to take place is through the use of Google Meet.

  • It is highly recommended that all visitors during Parent Teacher Conferences wear a face covering.

  • Please observe 6 FT social distancing while in the building.


What you need to know if you selected a Google Meet.

  • Our teachers will be emailing you a Google Meet link or Calendar Invite so you can access Google Meet for your virtual conference.


When is the deadline to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences?

  • The deadline to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences is Sunday October 2nd, at 8:00 pm.

SHS STUDENTS COMPETE IN UNIFIED SPORTS FLAG FOOTBALL COMPETITION

This week, SHS students traveled to John Marshall High School for a friendly flag football competition with several local high schools. The Unified Sports event brought students with disabilities together with their typical peers, as they competed together on the field. The goal of Unified Sports is to empower individuals with and without disabilities to engage through the power of sports and foster social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Strongsville’s team went a perfect 4-0 and are looking forward to additional sports competitions throughout the year!

Several students in the class starred in the thirty second spot which showcased our fall sports student-athletes. The Strongsville Athletic Boosters are selling raffle tickets to win a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer LS AWD donated by Serpentini Chevrolet of Strongsville. The vehicle is on display in front of the SCS bus lot on Pearl Road. Tickets may be purchased for $20 each. All proceeds benefit Strongsville Athletics. The raffle drawing will be held on December 3, 2021 at the Strongsville High School Boys Basketball Game. This year, a 2nd Place Prize of $500 and a 3rd Place Prize of $100 will also be awarded! We will be hosting a College Application Day on Wednesday, October 13 9:30 -12:30 in the media center.
College Reps will be here to answer questions, offer fee waivers, and give some freebies. We ask that you complete this sign up if you plan to attend.
SHS Counselors will be available to help you complete your applications, too!

SHS Guidance Staff will be available to help you navigate the system from a parent point of view. The next drop in help session is October 5 5:00pm -6:00pm in Room 913 (upstairs in the Media Center)


Financial Aid/FAFSA Meeting


All 12th grade students and families are encouraged to attend the virtual Financial Aid/FAFSA Presentation on Tuesday, October 5th at 6:00pm. Our presenter is from the office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarship at Tri-C. Here is a link to the virtual Financial Aid/FAFSA Presentation. PSAT Day 10/13

The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered on October 13th. We are allowing all students in grades 9-11 to participate in the test this year.


Registration will open on September 22 at 7:00 a.m. on the high school website. Registration will close on October 6th at 11:59 p.m.


There will not be any late registrations allowed.
