American literary figure and life partner of Gertrude Stein

Major Accomplishments

Her major personal accomplishment would be the Alice B. Toklas Cookbook in which she published in 1954. She was in a romantic relationship with Gertrude Stein and would often write manuscripts for her starting in 1908. Toklas gained major attention when Gertrude Stein's memories published The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas (1933).

Toklas life in Paris

Alice moved to Paris in 1907, It was there that she met Gertrude Stein and began writing manuscripts for her. They moved in 1910 into, 27 rue de Fleurus, their famous home in Paris. There is where they hosted some of the greatest writers and artist, their home became a famous meeting place. They lived there until the Death of Gertrude died in 1946.
