Dear Parents,
I wanted to take a moment and go over what students should be working on over winter break. Winter break is a time to spend with family and friends, but students should still sneak in 30 minutes of reading a day (work on RC goals), review math skills (flash cards), and work on the brief cursive packet that I will be sending home.
In reviewing what students should be working on, I also wanted to let all parents know that I will no longer be sending home math multiplication and division recording log sheets. I have had a difficult time getting students on board to practice these required skills and turn in the log regularly, hence, their progress has been very minimal because of this. In order for students to excel in advanced math, students need to be able to do fast facts rapidly. FSA is just around the corner and this skill will be essential for students to do well and complete the test in the allotted time.
Have a wonderful winter break!
