Grade Update Information

Grade Update for ALL Schedules

As of Saturday, all of the grades have been updated for the Friday, 3/28 due date.

If you were missing work, I have gone ahead and scored that assignment as a zero. I realize that some of you have special due dates. If you have a special accommodation or extension, these zeroes will be replaced with your assignment grade without penalty if turned in by your individual due date.

This rule applies for late work as well. Zeroes are entered after the due date. As late work is turned in, the late grade will replace the zero. Please refer to the late work policy below for more information.

Many of you had missing assignments for the 3/28 due date. If you are missing an assignment you should have received an e-mail from me. Please check your grades to see which assignment(s) are missing and turn them in ASAP!!!

Working at School and Home

As many of you near your spring break, just a reminder about working at school and at home. Remember, if your spring break doesn't coincide with the GaVS spring break you are still responsible for the materials on the course calendar. Be careful about saving materials on the school computers. If you have a due date and your material is saved on a school computer that you do not have access to, you will NOT be granted an extension.

I highly recommend saving material on a removable device like a "thumb" drive or using Google Drive so that you can access your assignments anywhere. Each student has been assigned a Google account for GaVS. This gives you access to many features of the Google Drive. Google Drive can be especially helpful if you are working at school and home, have difficulty saving on a school computer, or have a computer that is having issues with the Microsoft Office Tools. Check out this video I made below that can help you get started with Google Drive and specifically Google Docs if you have never used them before: Google Drive Help

Contacting Me

Keep my phone number & email address in a place that is easy to reach. If you have a special circumstance, please let me know. Here are some situations that might merit an immediate contact:

* Medical situation (hospitalization, extreme sickness, injury): Contact me BEFORE a due date if you have been too sick to complete work. Please note that a note from the doctor may be required to authorize any extensions for sickness.

* Technology emergency: Please notify me BEFORE a due date if you experience a technology issue. If you lose power, get kicked out of a test, have a computer crash, or other extreme situation, please let me know immediately. We understand that these things happen, but also expect students to have a back-up plan for technology issues. Plan to use a computer at school, the library, a friend or family member's computer, etc.

* General Assignment/Course Questions: These are best answered by email, but feel free to call me as well.

Your Instructor

As always students, facilitators, and parents, thank you for your hard work and guidance. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Have a great start to the semester!
