What Are We Learning?
READING
2.7 Students will understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the structure and elements of poetry while providing evidence from the text to support their understanding.
2.8 Students will understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the structure and elements of drama while providing evidence from the text to support their understanding.
SOCIAL STUDIES
2.11B Students will identify government services in the community such as police and fire protection, libraries, schools, and parks and explain their value to the community.
2.1B Students will identify and explain the significance of various community, state, and national landmarks such as monuments and government buildings.
2.11C Students will describe how governments tax citizens to pay for services.
2.12A Students will name current public officials, including mayor, governor, and president.
