8th Grade Savannah Trip - Important Information
Dear Eighth Grade Parents/Guardians,
The Savannah trip is almost upon us! In order to better prepare your son or daughter for the trip, listed below are the documents that we will be presenting to the students in the next few weeks.
- The Parent Information Page provides important information including departure and arrival times; emergency contact information; basic information on what students will be seeing/doing while in Savannah.
- The Packing List gives general information on what students should bring (and not bring) on the trip.
- The Rules of the Road provides basic rules for the trip.
Students who will need medication (even over the counter medication) on the trip should have already turned them in to the Clinic last week.
If a student becomes ill on the trip, parents will be required to drive to Savannah to pick their child up. We are unable to provide care for sick students while on the trip.
For students not going on the Savannah trip, we are busy putting together fun and educational activities for their time here at Autrey Mill.
Thank you all for your support. We've had a great start to our year and look forward to making your student's eighth grade year memorable!

Front Office Tidbit!
Coming Soon Fall Play, Aladdin Jr.
AMMS students have worked hard to bring a “Whole New World” to audiences with their production of “Aladdin Jr.” on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Johns Creek High School auditorium.
Based on Disney’s 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show, Aladdin JR. tells the story of a “diamond in the rough” street rat who finds that the true value of who he is lies within. Down on his luck Aladdin (8th grader Brady Carnesale) and his three friends, Babkak (8th grader Heart Tria), Omar (6th grader Camden Yount), and Kassim (8th grader Cole Hall), locate a magic lamp, and an all powerful Genie (8th grader Katie Burkett) informs Aladdin of three wishes he can be granted. With this change of fate, Aladdin begins an adventure that will put his moral character and will to the test in an attempt to earn the admiration of Princess Jasmine (8th grader Ella Meyers).
More than 50 students have been involved in putting put this show together since September under the guidance of drama director Shelly McCook, chorus director Vanessa Edwards, and choreographer Maddie Tweed.
Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.autreymillchorus.com/drama-dept.html. Tickets can also be purchased on the nights of the shows at JCHS, but please know it's cash only at the door. Shows begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Johns Creek High School auditorium, 5575 State Bridge Road.
