Re-Imagine Update
We are excited to share Meramec Valley’s Secondary Re-Imagine process recommendations and student centered initiatives for the 2021-2022 school year. Scheduling was one of the first recommendations to be addressed from the Secondary Re-Imagine proposal because it is a time sensitive topic that must be initiated at specific times in the school year in order to properly plan. Therefore, Riverbend Middle and Pacific High School will be moving from a traditional seven period and block daily schedule to a new trimester schedule for all students in grades 7-12. Please join us to learn about these changes at one of our Parent Information Meetings.

Coleman Elementary
The United Way (UW) of Franklin County serves 35 communities, five of those towns fall in the MVR-III School District. In the fall, MVR-III schools host a United Way campaign to raise funds to support the agencies and programs supported by Franklin County UW. Principal, Lisa Wierich stated, “Each year, we provide students with opportunities to give back to our school community. This year during an unprecedented pandemic, our school once again blew away our expectations with their giving hearts. We set a goal to collect $1,500, yet the combined total of staff and student donations was $2,915.17.”
MVR-III community agencies supported by UW funds include The Pacific Agape House, Grace’s Place, Tri-County Community Center, Summer Reading Programs, Compass Health Network, and the Children’s Advocacy Center. These agencies are just a few that MVR-III families may use as a resource. Coleman’s contribution along with other MVR-III Schools helped raise $18,368 for the Franklin County UW fall campaign.

Third grade students in Mrs. Gann's and Mrs. Burt's classroom participated in a flower dissection during their science lesson. In the lab, students were able to dissect, label, and identify the the typical parts of a flower. Thanks to Coleman Florist and Gifts in Pacific for donating flowers to the students.
Robertsville Elementary
One of Robertsville's goals is to provide a nurturing learning environment for students. Teachers have initiated 5 Tribes-1 Family as a theme to form a sense of community and togetherness within the school community. The tribes consist of a mixed age group of students and teachers. The tribes meet monthly for rallies and activities centered around the school’s pillars of success. Four focus pillars: citizenship, respectfulness, responsibility and resiliency are the key concepts to the lessons. The Fish philosophy inspires students and staff to choose their attitude, to be present, make someone’s day, and have fun while at school. Dan Munson; Robertsville principal said, “The 5 Tribes-1 Family model is creating a culture where students and staff choose to bring their best to our school community.”
Truman Elementary
Fourth grade students enjoy Project Based Learning (PBL) math activities with Mrs. Meininger and Mrs. Signaigo. Project Based Learning is an instructional methodology encouraging students to learn by applying their knowledge and skills through an engaging experience. The most recent PBL project was focused on learning fractions. Students designed their own pizza, yet they had to split the pizza into appropriate proportions, then guide an audience to solve fraction problems using their pizza creation.
