A Great Start!

I'd like to welcome all families back to school. Whether it is your first year at Greengate, or you are a returning family, we can promise you that we will make the 2016-2017 school year a successful one for you and your child! We've had a great start to the year-I have already seen students and teachers busy and engaged. Our enrollment is currently at 29, with a potential new student shadowing the Argonaut class next week.

Our New Students

A long-standing tradition at Greengate is to celebrate Pet Day! Students are encouraged to bring their pet to school for an hour at the beginning of the school day. Over the years, the pets have ranged from the typical dog and cat, to guinea pigs, hamsters, flying squirrels, even snakes! Of course, those pets had to be enclosed in a cage or box! This year, Pet Day is Friday, August 26th, from 7:30-8:30. We will be outside on the playground for students and pets to play together. Parents will need to stay for the hour and take the pet back home! Please make sure the pets are generally good with children, and that all dogs are on a leash.

This year our middle school students will be required to "dress out" for their physical education class. The required P.E. attire is navy gym shorts or sweats (in colder weather), either white or gray t-shirt, and tennis shoes. The Greengate logo IS NOT REQUIRED on these items. The t-shirt may be plain, or it can have school appropriate images or writing. The students will change out in their respective restrooms, across from the lockers. Students should start dressing out on Monday, August 29th.

School Pictures

School pictures will be made on Wednesday, August 31st, starting around 8:15. Students may wear regular clothes for pictures, they DO NOT have to wear their school uniform. Parents might want to send a uniform outfit for students to change back into after pictures.

Greengate Open House

Join us on Thursday, September 1st, at 6:30pm for our Open House. Meet your child's teachers, tour the classrooms and see what the students have been working on during the first few weeks of the new school year.
