Patriot News
November 2, 2023
Hello Patriot Nation!
On Monday, October 23rd your student received the Federal Impact Aid form from their 1st period teacher. The funds FCPS collects from the Federal Government are a vital part of the school system's general operating budget and are critical to supporting all students. FCPS needs your assistance in identifying each student with federal, military and diplomatic connections to ensure FCPS is able to obtain its share of funds from the program. It is important that these forms be returned no later than Friday, November 3, 2023.
More information on the Federal Impact Aid Program and Survey for parents and students is available on the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools website at the following link: https://www.nafisdc.org/impact-aid-resources/about-impact-aid/
For questions, email impactaid@fcps.org or call 301-696-6974.
Attendance: Students are expected to be in their 1st block class no later than 7:30 AM. Unexcused tardiness to any class block can result in lunch or after school detention, as well as additional disciplinary actions depending upon the excessiveness of the tardiness. Please ensure that when students are absent due to a lawful reason that a note is given to the attendance office within 3 school days of the absence.
Please email: tjhs.attendance@fcps.org with your student's name, grade, date, time, and reason for absence.
Parking Passes: If you have not yet filled out a parking application for this year, please do so immediately.
This week we will be handing out parking violations to students who are not displaying their parking passes or for vehicles parked in unauthorized spaces.
Students please remember the following when driving on campus:
Park in the white lined spaces only
Drive safely while on campus at no more than 15 MPH and yield to pedestrians
Understand that upon dismissal, students drivers are expected to leave campus immediately in a safe and orderly manner
Driving to school and parking on campus is a privilege. Failure to comply with school rules and expectations can result in loss of parking privileges (Grades, Attendance, etc).
If you still need to purchase a Student Permit, stop by the AP Office and Ms. Sing will help you. Be sure to complete your application online, and don't forget the items required (Drivers License, Proof of Insurance, Vehicle Registration). The parking permit fee is $20.
The Blue Lined Spaces are reserved for STAFF ONLY and the Front Parking Lot is reserved for staff with passes that state “FRONT CIRCLE.”
TutorMe is available for free to all students and can be accessed via the Clever portal. MathLab is also available on Wednesdays in the media center from 2:25 – 3:25 for all math students to receive free help. Be sure to contact your teachers with any questions about assignments
