Weekly update for the Meadows Elementary School community

Week Two of Distance Learning

Good Evening Meadows Families,

Happy Distance Learning Week#2! Here is a great article titled Help parents and caregivers keep kids focused, interested, and balanced while learning from home. You probably know many of the tips, but I also appreciate how the article reminds us to come from a place of empathy for one another- parents, caregivers, students and educators. We all want what is best for our children. Let's remember to work together. Meadows is here to work in partnership with you.

If you have not picked up your workbooks and materials, please come to our office anytime between the hours of 7:30am-4:00pm for pick up. We will have another distribution later this week and you can grab materials then. In the pick up, you will find ELA Benchmark workbooks. These are used by teachers to assign classwork.

Please reach out with any questions, we are here to support our community. And, we hope that you have a great week!

Dr. Juliet Fine

Principal of Meadows

Attendance-Students Attendance for Live Google Meets!

Law, SB-98 Attendance counts during Distance Learning! We are monitoring and checking on your child's daily attendance. We care for every child and want to see them succeed during this time of distance learning. Students earn positive attendance by attending a live session Mon.-Thurs. or by completing the day's assignments. Live Google Meets are very important for students to attend as well as daily completion of their class assignments. Please reach out to your teacher if your child cannot attend a live google classroom appointment. You will want to explain why they are not able to attend to the teacher. They use this time to teach new academic content, answer questions, connect with students, do emotional check-ins and also spend time reading and clarifying classwork to them. It is a critical part of their learning experience during distance learning. Friday, students must submit and log into the classroom in order to have their positive attendance count. Thank you for working in partnership with us!
