Report cards for 4th marking period will be viewable on Parent Vue/Student Vue, but not included in the mailing. Senior transcripts are available for request via Parchment (see Parchment graphic for more information).
Parchment - Send Transcripts to Colleges, Employers, or Self
Parchment allows families/students to request, send, and, store transcripts. It also includes powerful tools to research colleges and admissions. We advise NOT to use school email addresses during the registration process, as there may be a need to access this resource beyond high school years.
To access Parchment, please follow these steps:
1. Login/ Register - Sign in at www.parchment.com and click Sign Up to log in or register.
2. Add School - Click Get Started, and add high school(s).
3. Select Destinations- Select destinations such as colleges, NCAA, Common Application, or yourself, and review your selection.
4. Provide Consent- Complete waiver form and e-sign the transcript authorization form.
5. Payment - Provide debit/credit card payment if fees are required.
6. Track Order - Order Status will be emailed and updated in Parchment account.
Summer School - Enroll by June 22nd by Noon
Enrollment Deadline: Due by Thursday, June 22nd by NOON.
Summer School Start Date: Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Summer School End Date: Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Cost: Full rate: $155.00 per class (max of two classes)
Reduced rate: $90.00 per class (reduced lunch qualified students)
Free rate: $60.00 per class (free lunch qualified students)
Classes must be paid in full at time of registration or the class(es) will not be loaded into the student's electronic file. Checks payable to: Fenton High School, cash, or E-funds.
Open Lab (optional): There will be an Open Lab on Tues, Wed, and Thursday starting 6/27/23 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for students needing assistance or a place to work.
Students who pay in full in the Early Enrollment Window (May 22-June 20) will have access to their coursework within 2 business days and can begin working early. Materials will not get graded until the actual start of summer school term 6/27.
FHS Online Summer School classes will be loaded and students sent his/her user name and password to his/jher school gmail account. Your student will receive an email that looks like this:

2023-24 Online Re-registration for Current Students or New Students
Online enrollment for new students and the re-registration of current students opened March 1, 2023, with mandatory prompting beginning April 11th.
- New families will want to create a Parent Vue account to enroll students.
- Current FAPS families will login to your existing Parent Vue account to add new students and/or update your current students' information. Obligations - Take Care of Before Schedule Pick-up August 9 & 10
Time to return textbooks, library books, district issued Chromebooks (if you plan to leave the district) as well as make good on any Athletic pay to participate, yearbook late fees, library books or cafeteria obligations prior to the conclusion of the school year.
Obligation notices were mailed June 12th with the transcript. Obligations not settled could impact schedule pick-up in mid-August.

NOTE: Remember, students who qualify for free or reduced lunches also qualify for discounts on Pay to Participate and Summer School fees.

Summer Athletic Activities
After the Dead Period (July 3rd - 9th), when coaches cannot have contact, check out the Summer practices/conditioning taking place.
Cross-Country Camp: Camp is July 21- 24 at DH Day Campground. Summer practice is 8 am, Monday-Friday, meeting at the track starting June 13th. Contact Coach Renae Muzer for more info at rmuzer@fentonschools.org

LAFCU Scholarship Winner - Chloe Eden
Four Michigan students have been awarded $5,000 scholarships for penning the winning essays in LAFCU's 2023 Write to Educate Contest.
Each student wrote on this topic: If you had the opportunity to change the future of the workplace, what would you change and why?
In addition to their winnings, LAFCU will donate $500 each to the four charities the essay winners chose.
One of the winning essay was from Fenton High School Senior, Chloe Eden (clink on link to read the essay).

New Genesee Career Institute Class - HVAC
Genesee Career Institute (GCI) has added a new HVAC program to the fall 2023 schedule through a partnership with Mott Community College (MCC). This program will provide students with hands-on training and a pathway to a rewarding career in the field of HVAC.
GCI, a leading provider of career technical education, along with MCC has developed this new college-level program for Genesee County juniors and seniors. Classes will be held at MCC three days per week during GCI’s third session. Enrollment is now available; however, space is limited.

Google Classroom - How to JOIN A Class
All FHS Students - Join Classes in Google Classroom
After getting your schedule online via Parent/Student Vue, ALL FHS students should go into the Google Classroom and enter the "Class Codes" for the correct hour and class taught by his/her teachers.
To "join" the Google Classroom for all of your classes follow these three steps:
1. Check your FHS gmail for a Google Classroom invite from your teacher.
2. If there is no invite, log into Google Classroom to see if the classroom is there to JOIN. You are looking for a JOIN code.
3. Email your teacher (ex. jane doe = jdoe@fentonschools.org). You can find the first initial of your teacher's first name on your schedule.
Note: Parents can also JOIN a class in Google Classroom to view grades, assignments, project and test reminders, handouts, etc. Email the teacher and ask for a Google Classroom invite.

Following these steps will help determine if you still qualify:
- Make sure your contact information is up-to-date.
- Check mail or text messages for a letter.
- Complete your renewal form (if you get one).

FHS has partnered with Easterseals of Michigan. Easterseals offers school-based therapy with an onsite clinician 5 days per week including:
- Individual, family & group therapy utilizing evidence-based interventions.
- Specialized training & support services for parents & teachers
- Connections to numerous community resources
- Less time missed at work/school
- Fewer transportation conflicts
- Students can make appointments when convenient (avoiding test days, etc.)
