October 2019
Thank you!
Fall Break
On October 10th and 11th, we will enjoy our GCPS Fall Break! Please remember that Wednesday, October 9th, is a full school day. If at all possible, we ask that early check-outs be avoided on the 9th. Monday, October 14th is also a student holiday (teacher workday).
Attention 4th and 5th Grade Parents!
We hope you and your student are pleased with the agenda books that are being utilized this year. These books are a great way for students (and you) to keep track of their assignments. And, they are packed full of other great resources like The Seven Habits of Effective Students, a writing check-list , a data tracking sheet, goal setting, and so much more.
If you have not already made your contribution towards the cost of these books, please go to MyPaymentsPlus today! The contribution is only $5.25 and will help the school cover the cost of this great resource.
Donations Needed: Relay for Life Cake Walk Items
Parents, please consider donating to the Relay for Life Cake Walk which will be held during the Fall Festival on October 18. We are accepting donations of homemade or store bought baked goods (cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, or cookies). You may drop off your donation at the front desk or at the car rider loop on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18. All money made through the cake walk will go to Relay for Life. We appreciate your support!

2019-2020 Digital Learning Days
Gwinnett County Public Schools’ (GCPS) 2019‐20 school calendar includes two make‐up days to address school days missed due to inclement weather. In addition to these days, GCPS also has the option of using Digital Learning Days to make up days missed due to inclement weather. Should a decision be made to cancel school, students, parents, and staff will be notified of the closing and if the day is a Digital Learning Day.
How will it work for students?
- On the day that school has been canceled, teachers will post assignments on their eCLASS C&I course pages. High school assignments will be posted by 8 a.m. Elementary school assignments will be posted by 9 a.m. And, middle school assignments will be posted by 10 a.m.
- Students will use the MyeCLASS student portal to log in to their eCLASS C&I course pages where they will access assignments, resources, and other materials. If the power is out, a student may access the teacher’s course page when power returns. If a student does not have access to a computer or device (tablet, smartphone, etc.), the student can get the assignment once school resumes.
- Student work will be expected to be turned in to the teacher (either digitally or in person), using a school’s process for turning in work following an absence. For example, if your school allows students to turn in work two days after a missed day, the Digital Learning Day assignments would be due two days after classes resume.
Parents and students who need a refresher course on how to access eCLASS C&I course pages can go to the following web page for helpful resources and information:
