Retiring Coaches
We celebrated the coaching retirement of two Mountain View legends, Bart Mayes & Scott Barker. Bart & Scott coached freshman football together at Smoky Hill High School back in 1996. Now almost 30 years later, they celebrate their retirement from coaching high school sports. Scott was the only remaining original head coach at the school, beginning the wrestling program in Mountain View's inaugural year in 2000. Bart began as an assistant football coach, and took over as head a few years in. Both of these men are leaving a lasting legacy of developing not only athletes, but young men. The retirement celebration included former athletes and coaches as well as proud family members, all of whom have been deeply impacted by the character of these two. Thank you for your years of dedication: loyalty + sacrificial service.
New Mountain View Logo
And finally, we revealed our new, official Mountain View Logo!! The logo's inspiration was drawn by parent, Katrina Hatch, and refined by a design team over several months. We are thrilled to have a unifying mark for Mountain View after 21 years!
