Welcome Back Butler Families
I am excited to share with you that the 2018-2019 school year has started off extremely well. With a focus of school pride and community as one of Butler's goals we started off the school year with all students in the gym as a kick off. To make this event even better, as students entered the gym they were cheered on by their fellow classmates. It was so exiting to see our 6th graders walking into the gym to loud welcoming cheers by all of our 7th and 8th grade students. The morning then transitioned into all 900 students participating in fun team building activities. This kick off jump started one of the best starts of the school year I have been part of.
As mentioned above, school pride and community is one of our goals but communicating with families is always something we continue to make adjustments to meet the needs of all our families. Please join us on Facebook and Twitter for up coming events and visit our website all Butler information. Also, please make sure your email is correct in the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus to received important information throughout the school year.
Thank you for your part of helping us start the school year off in a positive fashion. As a Butler community that includes students, parents, staff and Butler staff we with thrive to Build Everyone Success Together.
BEST,

Good luck! Did we mention that the winner will receive a FREE yearbook??
Butler Buddies
Butler Buddies will meet on Wednesday, September 19th after school until 3:30 in room 323. Butler Buddies is open to any student in 6th, 7th and 8th grade, however it is more specifically designed for students with special needs. Butler Buddies will “buddy up” with other clubs throughout the school year, giving students exposure to activities which they might not necessarily participate in on their own. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Salinas or Mrs. Rivera.
Robotics Club
Butler robotics club will be holding its informational meeting on Tuesday, September 11th in Mr. Lammers and Mr Bowen's tech. ed room (121). If you would like to work with your hands to design, build, and compete with remote controlled robots join us! See Mr Lammers, Mr.Bowen or Mr. Cesarz for more information.
Butler Student Council is a group of ambitious leaders that strives to serve both the schools and neighboring community. We help out at a variety of school events throughout the year, host school events, promote improvement initiatives, and much more! We develop leadership skills through attendance at various conferences throughout the year. We also help with some daily functions of the school.
Student Council is still accepting new members and we are flexible with other clubs and sports. See an advisor for more information.
Volleyball
Volleyball starts on Tuesday, November 27 to Thursday, December 20, 2018. We will play Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays unless there is a wrestling meet here at Butler. Each session will run from 2:45 to 3:45. This is not a competitive league, it is a great opportunity for students of all skill levels to get together and play volleyball.
In order to participate students must return a signed permission slip to the attendance office and have a signed concussion form on file in the office. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Kirsch (970-2953) or Mrs. Harrington (970-2959).
