Reading Ambassador
Thank you to Mr. Adams for reading to us and answering our many curious 2nd graders' questions!!! We loved hearing how you fly jet airplanes for American Eagle
Field Day
It is recommended that you send your child with a water bottle and extra socks, shoes, and a towel. We will have some water events and due to the rainy weather we may have a lot of mud so they can change into dry clothes and clean shoes to go home. Please make sure you label all articles of clothing. If you did not purchase a Field Day shirt your child may wear a royal blue shirt.

Language Arts
Students are reading texts to describe the order of events or ideas in an information text. We are also reading Those Shoes by Maribeth Boelts for students to make text-to-world connections and inferences. We are identifying synonyms and antonyms in our daily mentor sentences. Next week we will read The Three Little Javelinas and discuss the similarities to another similar folktale. We will also begin MAP testing in Reading.
Math
We started our unit in Data Analysis. Students will organize data with up to 4 categories using pictographs and bar graphs with intervals of one or more and explain the length of the bar or pictures represent the number of data points in a given category.
Social Studies
Students are researching historical figures that helped shape the community, state, and nation in order to understand the past affects the present.
