Message from Joi Pettus, PTA Vice President

Dear Teachers,

The Arcado Elementary School PTA needs YOUR HELP!!

Studies show that parental involvement in a child's education is one of the most important factors in raising self-esteem and academic achievement. Moreover, most studies show that parental involvement should go beyond parent teacher conferences and scheduled student performances - this is where the PTA steps in.

While PTA Membership dues are important, a critical part of PTA resides within our programs and these programs cannot function without parents and teachers to step up as leaders.

Without leaders in place for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year many programs and events such as our Fundraisers - which assist with the purchase of the Scholastic Readers, Guest Speakers & Authors, Room Parents, Grandparents Day, Arts Programs such as Reflections, Family Events such as the Fun Run and Glow Dances just to name a few examples cannot be held. So we are in need of your help to RECRUIT our next group of leaders to ensure these programs not only stay intact but are successful!

The Arcado ES PTA currently has both Board and Committee Chair position vacancies that need to be filled.

If every teacher could encourage all parents to support the PTA and approach at least 2-3 of your parents that you feel would be interested in supporting one of the many PTA-sponsored activities it would be greatly appreciated!

More information will be shared at the PTA meeting on Monday May 11th @ 6:30PM.
