GREETINGS FROM MS. HOLMSTROM: EVERYDAY IS A FRESH START THAT LEADS TO A GREAT FINISH!
Dear GMS Families,
Hello Lions! It's great to be back in the building! Building entry is still reserved for urgent matters only at this time. Please email or call the main office at (856) 456-7000 (x4009) and we will assist in any way.
I wanted to share a quote from Marcus Aurelius-
“You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.” - Aurelius
From 165 to 180 AD, Rome was hit by the Plague of Galen. It literally killed millions of people and took place while Aurelius ruled. No one knew what caused this awful disease. The Romans thought if they burned incense it would protect their family from catching the disease. Aurelius stayed in Rome even though other leaders fled. He talks about waking up each day in his book Meditations to “smelling the incense.” He thought this smell was a reminder that surviving from day to day was a gift. Let in everything we do that how precious life is and how nothing should be taken for granted.
Please look at the COVID tab and do not hesitate to reach out and be sure to continue to stay up-to-date with Dr. Vespe's video public announcements that will be released each Friday. Gloucester City School District continues to maintain a COVID 19 web page to centralize all information during this time for parents and the community.
