The Summary of Hoot
Hoot, By Carl Hiaasen is a story about a police officer named David Delinko, and a kid named Roy Eberhardt. Officer Delinko is a police officer in the town of Coconut Cove, in Florida. Delinko is having a problem with a burrowing owl situation and it's interfering with his job. For Roy, he has a problem of his own. After an incident with a bully and a running match with a kid who he must know, his childhood has never been the same. He's trying to find out who this mysterious running kid is, will he find him and have his question answered and have a normal childhood in his new neighbor hood, or will delinko be able to keep his job? Who is the author?
Carl Hiaasen is an American author, journalist, and writer. He was born on March 12th 1953 in Plantation Florida. He went to school at the University of Florida and graduate at 23. He started writing in 1985 when he wrote for the columns in the paper. He wrote adult books then made stories for children, thus, Hoot was born.
Roy Eberhardt: Main Character
Roy Eberhardt is a boy who moves from state to state town to town, so he never really gets comfortable. He is a quiet smart kid with very big heart. He goes to Trace Middle School and is trying to start a new childhood.
Mullet Fingers
Napoleon Bridger, a kid from a broken home of his parents not liking him very much, must have lots of endurance, considering how much he runs.
