Note from Mrs. Smith
Wow, it's hard to believe that the school year is already coming to an end! This has been an amazing year with an outstanding group of students. I am so proud of all the hard work these kids have put in and how much they've grown since August! I hope your child showed you their beginning of the year writing compared to their end of the year writing that they brought home on Thursday- they got a kick out of seeing how much their writing has improved over the course of a year! It's really true that I couldn't have asked for a better group of students to finish out my time at Schumacher with. I will miss them so much! If your child is interested in being my pen pal, send me an email and I will give you my address so they can write to me this summer.
Thanks for all your support this year! I hope you and your family have a fun and relaxing summer!

Rangers Reading Crew
This summer, we will be partnering with the Swope Park Rangers (farm team of Sporting KC) to offer a FREE ticket to all students who read 5 books during the summer. Sheets will be coming home this week. Students will fill out the bottom of the form and return it to the library to earn their free ticket to the game. Kids will also be given a discount code for their family to buy additional tickets.
Perhaps the most exciting part of this program is that the Rangers want to recognize one student at each grade level who reads the MOST this summer. These students will be selected and will get to be honored on the field at a Rangers game. In addition, if they have read the most books of all the participating schools, there is an even greater prize that has yet to be announced.
