Spotlight on Mrs. Burks
Mrs. Quintana writes:
I'd like to highlight Ms. Burks. She is a great team member and friend! She's always thinking of new creative ways to engage students. Ms. Burks stays on top of pulling resources every week and is always ready to collaborate and share ideas. SCIENCE STRONG!
Spotlight on ARSA
Ms. Taylor writes:
Thank you ARSA Staff for making the announcement of the Principal of the Year for the NE Secondary Network memorable.
This recognition come because of the dedication of our awesome, unrelenting ARSA Staff! We hold a deep belief and commitment to transforming the lives of our scholars.
Deeply appreciated!!
Spotlight on Social Studies Teams
I would like to spotlight our fabulous social studies teachers who brought in their students to the book fair. We did well and will be able to get $600.00 in profit. The students enjoyed coming and buying books and some other things.
Spotlight on 6th Grade
6th Grade is working to build leadership capacity among teachers as well as students. We paused to enjoy a nacho bar during the 1st 6 weeks and solidify roles for our student activities. This week students will be recognized with jeans passes for A & B Honor Roll, and with chips for good character. 6th grade is also sponsoring the fall dance, "The Glow Up Is Real!"
Spotlight on ARSA Teachers
Thanks to our ARSA teachers, students are engaged in learning about how consistent implementation of behavior expectations support healthy brain development.
Spotlight on Mr. Douglas
Shout-out to Mr. Douglas for his patient, calm and considerate interaction with our scholars who visit the behavior unit. The relationship he has built with those kids is inspiring. He offers profound insight by communicating to teachers the students' triggers, strengths and MOs, which sheds light on how to we can differentiate our instruction in order to provide the very best and most tailored educational experience for our scholars. Thanks, Mr. Douglas!
Sportlight on 6th Grade Lunch Team
Thank you to the 6th grade lunch team! We work together to provide a safe and enjoyable lunch time for the students. Ms. Hilliard, Mr. Bables, Mr. Green, Ms. Ortega, Ms. Fuller, Ms. Earl, Ms. Masters, Ms. Lacy, Ms. Coley, Ms. Virden, and Ms. Fabiola. Special thanks to Ms. Hilliard, Mr. Green, and Mr. Bables who hold down the fort daily without fail. Thanks to Ms. Masters for starting the line-up system.
Spotlight on Ms. McDonald
I want to spotlight Ms. McDonald. She is always so cheerful and happy. Her positive energy and great attitude is contagious. She makes our school culture bright.
Spotlight on 6th and 7th Grade Social Studies Teams
Each team is being asked to think differently about planning for instruction and it has not gone unnoticed. Both teams learning curve is great and I appreciate the diligence and desired to keep learning and improving practices. Everyone has been stretched themselves!!
How we plan dictates how we impact the learning of our scholars and maximizing time on aligned instruction is KEY! You all are continuing to work toward that!! Kudos
Keep up the fortitude, practicing the work, being reflective, and refining daily!
Spotlight on Ms. Lewis & Mrs. Hawkins
Mad props to Ms. Hawkins & Ms. Lewis for fabulous PD presentations today (Oct 12)! They ran those sessions like the bad ladies they are, and the content was relevant, helpful and important. They make what at first seems impossible entirely doable. And given how much they juggle (much of which we teachers are not even aware), it's impressive how prepared and well thought-out their guidance is. We are so, so lucky to have them coaching our instruction. ❤
Spotlight on Mrs.Harris
I caught Mrs. Harris FLS class collaborating/working on a project in the hall while Mrs. Harris aggressively monitored. The students were enthused about learning! Way to go for getting the students up and moving!
ARSA Legendary Rangers
Listen to the morning announcements and be ready to wear your Legendary Apron! We are working on a permanent Legendary Ranger Parking Spot.
