Asa C. Adams School Newsletter

March 2023

Dear Asa Families,

Just like that...March is here. It's hard to believe that a few weeks from now the final trimester of the school year will begin. As we look ahead with this final trimester in sight, we should begin thinking about the progress our students have made in the past months. One of the most important skills that we can all do well to strengthen is our ability to reflect on what we have been able to accomplish and identify those areas that are still in need of attention.

Observing your children's growth over short periods of time is not an easy task as we do not see true, long-lasting gains over a couple of weeks. Instead, we all need to look at where the children began the school year or even where they were at this time last year. As you reflect, begin to think about the focal point of your child or children's growth and areas where they may want to set goals. Starting to develop strategic questions that will help your child think about the things they are doing well and strategies for next steps to be taken to strengthening skillsets that need further development, is a process that can help foster a growth mindset and perseverance. Each of these skills can serve our students and ourselves well into adulthood.

Finally, March is certainly looking to be a busy month. We hope to see many of you at the Orchestra Performance and Show Choir Extravaganza later in the month. May March bring much luck to you and your family, and as always...remember we are here if you need us.

Sincerely,

Ms. Wyman and Ms. West
