The Dominican Republic is located near the middle of the Caribbean and is Southeast of Florida and shares an island with Haiti. Half the island is Haiti and the other half Dominican.

The Capital of the Dominican Republic is Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo is one of the Dominicans oldest cities, dating back to the 1500's. It is also very cosmopolitan and is known for its nightlife.

The most popular sport of the Dominican Republic is baseball, many professional baseball players are from the Dominican one example is David Ortiz.


The most popular food eaten in the Dominican is a combination of multiple foods nicknamed "La Bandera" (the flag). It consists of: rice, red beans, meat, and salad.

La Bahía de Samana

The Yuna River flows into the Samaná Bahía, and it is located south of the town and peninsula of Samaná and features whale watching, marinas, and beaches.

The colonial zone of Santo Domingo is dedicated to St.Mary of Incarnation.

El Museo Del Amber

The Amber Museum. An outstanding example of Victorian architecture, the museum houses a unique collection of valuable Dominican amber. Experts say this amber is known to be the most transparent in the world. Amber is classified as semiprecious and is actually tree sap that has hardened for millions of years, capturing many fossils of plant and insect life.

Bávaro is a tourist area in Punta Cana, located in La Altagracia province, the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. Bavaro was developed together with the resort area and tourist region of Punta Cana, as a town for resort workers
