Solar Eclipse
We are excited for Monday's eclipse and have planned a way for the entire school to enjoy it as a fun learning experience. The eclipse is going to reach maximum coverage in Central Ohio at 2:30pm. A few minutes before this we will have the TV's programmed to view the live coverage. Feel free to watch as much or as little of the eclipse that works for your class. (Just make sure each student has the opportunity to view the maximum coverage, again that will be at 2:30pm)
Also, please check your mailboxes Monday morning. There will be an infographic sheet about this event for every student in your Mod 25 class. When the TV's come on, please give each student a paper and encourage them to take it home and share with their family.
Lauren Dorsey and the Science Department.

AP Support during E&I
Through the Lead Higher Initiative, PHSN has created equity with under represented students enrolled in AP classes. To provide SUPPORT to these students, as well as ALL students taking AP classes, we have created structured "LEARNING GROUPS". These groups will provide targeted academic assistance to students in the classroom and during E&I.
During E&I, students will participate in one of the following LEARNING GROUP options:
- Study Groups (Commons)
- Large Group Review (Lecture Hall/PAC/219)
- Independent Study (Media Center)
- Office Hours- (Teacher Rooms)
Through QR readers, we are able to track daily participation and as well as track study patterns for each student. The goal is to show a positive correlation between time spent studying and improved academic achievement.
Upcoming Activities
Friday August 25-
FACE
Friday August 25-
First Home Football Game/Marching Band Show
E&I Activities
We will continue providing structured activities during E&I. Sooner than later, we will conduct our regrouping of students. The main goal is to provide intervention to students in need of additional help, while providing enrichment opportunities to ALL students. I am excited about the plan we have in place for our AP students. I think this format could be replicated with ALL students and E&I groupings.
