What does it mean to be a bully?
First of all being a bully is never a good thing. Bullies are people who pick on others, usually do to difference in size and the rate that one person reaches maturity over another. Bullying can come in many different forms and can be derived from many different social differences and problems. Sadly the reality is that ethnicity plays a huge role in the selection of a victim for a bully. African Americans receive the blunt of the bullying force in America, followed by Hispanics and peoples of the Jewish religion. Bullies derive from amazingly other sources than just those two. Bullying occurs to people with red hair, people of different religious backgrounds, and so much more. Think that's shocking? Well, Proquest research even discovered that, "Students in schools located in town and rural communities were more likely to be bullied than students in urban and suburban areas". This goes to show how many different outlets their are for bullies to use.
Alert all possible people about the problems of bullies
its important that the world knows just how serious bullying can be. If more people take a stand, than perhaps people will stop seeing bullying as "cool" or socially acceptable
Stop the crime in its tracks
If you see someone bullying or being bullied, it is important to either step in and stop it yourself or go get an adult to resolve the issue.
Get Involved
One of the best things you can do is to get involved with your community, so its cool to join anti-bullying groups or perhaps give a couple of speeches yourselves.

With all of this new information about bullies, what can be done to stop the epidemic? Well like previously stated, one of the best ways to stop something like this is to get involved with social activities that support whatever your fighting for. For example: anti-bullying rallies or group meetings are important to be apart of. Second, it might be a good idea to get personally active and get your friends involved, word in high school and middle school spreads quickly. All one person has to do is get the word out, so let that person be you! Finally, if you see the crime happening it is your duty as fellow classmates or even as fellow humans, to step in and resolve the issue. If this doesn't work then the next step would be to find someone of a higher authority like a teacher or principal. Bullying is a real threat that needs to be taken care of immediately and the most important thing to remember is that it all starts with you.
