Halloween Rules & Guidelines

Oakbrook Elementary

Halloween is coming soon!

With Halloween right around the corner, I thought it would be important that we communicate about the guidelines for the festivities now so that everyone can have an enjoyable morning on October 29. There have been some changes made to the costuming category so please make sure that you read the information carefully.

  • All children should wear their costume to school. There will not be time to change into the outfits when they get here.
  • Face paint and colored hair spray is allowed.
  • Hats, wigs, silly accessories such as clown noses, eyelashes etc. can be worn.
  • Children need to be able to move about freely in their outfit.
  • Halloween masks or face covers (such as hoods that include the face mask created in see-through fabric etc.) are NOT allowed. Children should NOT bring their masks to carry with them. Of course, Covid masks can be worn.
  • Toy weapons or items that can be construed as such are NOT allowed. This includes items such as toy guns, swords, pitchforks etc.
  • The District dress code is in effect therefore bare midriffs and clothing that is inappropriate will not be acceptable for this school event.
  • In choosing a costume, please make sure that it is respectful of other cultures, genders etc.
