Weekly Newsletter
September 22nd - 26th
Welcome
It's hard to believe this is our fourth week of school already! Where has the time gone? With that said, I can share with you that I am one very proud teacher, of three very hard working students.
...AND it's official, as of today...Happy Fall, ya'll!
Also, I have an email address through the church now. You can email me at emeinel@christpewaukee.org from now on. My gmail account is fine to use as well, which ever is more convenient for you!
This Week in Kindergarten
I forgot to mention that we are also learning some sight words (words we see very frequently while reading and writing). So far we have learned a, I, and the. This week we will add see and an to our word wall. When reading with your child at home, please point these words out and ask about them. Some have little songs, chants, or motions that go with them that we practice every morning. We will learn approximately 40 words by the end of the school year. If the kids don't seem to be picking up on them with solely my instruction in the classroom, I may send flashcards to practice at home. Thanks for your help with this!
Coming Up...
Next week, September 28 - October 4, the Learning Shop (17435 W. Bluemound Rd., Brookfield) will host a "fundraising" program for Lambs of Christ Learning Center. Earn & Learn allows people to purchase items (toys, learning games, books, manipulatives, Christmas gifts, etc.), mention our center at the checkout, and then a portion of the sale will benefit our school! Let me know if you have any questions about this.
Mark your calendars! September 27, following the 5:00 church service will be a hayride. Teachers will be installed during Sunday services on the 28th. The students will be going on a field trip October 8th to Baase's Farm. Look for an emailed permission slip in your email inbox if you have not already seen it. October 12 the students will be singing during the 10:30 church service. Picture days at the center will be October 23-24. October 30-31 there is no school.
