Back to School Information and Events
Dear Crippen Families,
We are so excited to see our astronauts back at school for the 2021-2022 school year! After an unprecedented school year, we are ready to welcome and educate our students back for a fun-filled year of learning. We want each student to know they are cared for and grow at least one academic year. We are working hard to plan out our instructional plans to do this as well as all of our neat extracurricular activities and social emotional learning lessons through 7 Mindsets.
We look forward to working alongside you to make this the best school year ever for our students.
Your Proud Principal,
Crystal Mayes

Meet our new Assistant Principal Mayra Andrade!
Hello Parent, Students, and Staff! My name is Mayra Andrade. It is my pleasure to serve as the new assistant principal of Robert L. Crippen Elementary. I am delighted to return to Crippen and work with the wonderful staff, amazing students, and committed families of the Crippen Community.
I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies. After that, I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. My most recent work experiences were as a Bilingual Dyslexia Specialist and as an EL Instructional Coach. Prior to that, I taught 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade in Aldine ISD and New Caney ISD.
I am excited about the wonderful possibilities that this new school year will bring and proud to be part of the Crippen family!

Family Skyward Access
Reminder, you can use Family Access in Skyward to keep track of your student's grades. Canvas Grades only gives you information about individual assignments. If you want to check on your student's overall grade, you will find that information in Skyward. New registrations get access during registration. You can put in a Help Desk Ticket request if you need help remembering your log-in information.
Thank you to the Kingwood Kroger, Kelly Graham, and Mrs. Woolsey!

Counselor's Corner
Crippen Elementary is excited to implement the 7 Mindsets curriculum with our little astronauts during the 2021-2022 school year. We previewed the program last year and are ready to fully implement it this year. Based on the foundational premise that every child is extraordinary, the program positively impacts school climate by addressing social and emotional issues and facilitating character development.
The 7 Mindsets are:
- Everything Is Possible
- Passion First
- We Are Connected
- Attitude Of Gratitude
- 100% Accountable
- Live To Give
- The Time Is Now
The 7 mindsets are a research-driven program designed to help students have a comprehensive blueprint for happiness, intentionality, and success.
This curriculum will be incorporated during their morning meeting that is held from 7:30-7:50 AM. I look forward to an awesome year
