#PHMExcellence
"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" That's because P-H-M Education Foundation is spreading holiday cheer across the district surprising grant applicants. This year the Foundation is awarding its largest grant awards ever thanks to the generosity of donors within P-H-M and businesses in our local community! This grant cycle the Foundation is awarding more than $42,000 to P-H-M schools and programs! Find out which school/program will be next and how much money they are receiving by clicking here to like and follow the P-H-M Education Foundation on Facebook.
Cereal Donation Drive
Today we counted and organized the donations of cereal boxes for our 3rd annual cereal drive. We counted over 1, 500 boxes of cereal collected this year. That number surpasses the amount we collected last year by 500! Thank you for your generosity and committment to helping our community. The Clay Church Food Pantry members were overwhelmed by the amount of donations because those donations will help over 1, 500 families who rely on getting food donations each year. Our Stars in service students worked hard to load up and pack up the truck. We are so grateful to our families, teachers and students who contribute to this cause each year. Tune in to WSBT news at 6:00 to watch some footage of our cereal train. You can watch the entire cereal domino train in the link below.
E-Learning
As we approach the winter season, we have to think about the possibility of bad weather and school closings. Please read the attached letters below regaridng how our district handles E-Learning Days. There are also directions on how to log into Google Classroom for your students to obtain their assignments.
Dazzle Night
Dazzle Night is coming December 5th. Did you know our school mascot is Dazzle the Star? Each year, the PTO plans a fun event called Dazzle Night. This year's event will feature excerpts from the Spectacular Contemporary Nutcracker Ballet performed live by the Aurinko Ballet. Tickets cost $5 per person and are on sale now through November 30th – click here to purchase. Please note that seating is limited, and this event may sell out quickly!
Giving Tree
Our giving tree has a few stars on it for those who have turned in their donations. Please remember that those are all donations are due next Friday, December 8th. We are looking forward to helping a few PHM families in need this season. We are so grateful for your generosity.
Thank-A-Teacher
It's that time of year again for the Annual P-H-M Education Foundation's Thank-a-Teacher. This is a wonderful way to say a special thank you to your child's teacher, or any P-H-M staff member that has made a difference in their lives. Your donation will go into our Grant Fund, which is returned to the schools in the form of Teacher Grants that include programs and projects that cannot be funded through school budgets. The nominee will receive a note with your special message, a pin for their lanyard, and the first 125 will receive a free Gold Car Wash courtesy of Drive & Shine. See phmef.org for more details or to download a form.
Learning Sphere
This year Northpoint will be hosting our Learning Sphere Event on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. We are so excited for this event! Submitting a project and attending this event are both optional. However, we would like to gather more information on who is interested in participating.
Students have an option to choose a project in an area that interests them. Learning Sphere projects can be in an area that interests them including: Fine Arts, Mathematics, Media, Social Studies, and Science.
While we ask students to choose a project in an area that interests them, they have an additional choice to make an entry in the science category. When entering a science project, students need to decide whether they want to do a general science research project, or enter a science experiment that follows the scientific method. The top science experiment projects submitted by 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are eligible for entry in the Northern Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair at Notre Dame.
Please take a moment to fill out the form below to let us know if your child is interested in entering a project. If you answer "yes" below, a packet with more information will be sent home with your child soon.

We could use some helping hands during this event to help things run smoothly. Please sign up for a volunteer time slot of 45 minutes to help deliver orders to tables and to the drive-thru. This is something you can do with your kiddo!

Yearbook Orders
It's that time of year once again, Yearbook is in need of volunteers for each of our classrooms to help make the classroom pages portion of the yearbook. Much of this yearbook assignment can be done from the comfort of your computer or if you are so inclined, you can be as involved as you like; such as going into the class and taking student's pictures, designing a theme, creating props- the opportunities are wide open.
We would love to have multiple volunteers for each classroom, as they say many hands make lighter work. Please fill out this Google form and we will contact you soon! Thank you!

Procedures for Car Pool Line
Due to an increased amount of car riders this year, we need to change our car pool procedures to provide a safer environment for our staff and students. Please be sure to pick up a car tag number in the office if you don't have one yet. We would appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement the following new procedures;
1. Once you have entered the curb line up, please wait until you have been ushered forward to begin exiting the car pool line.
2. DO NOT pass around cars at any time while you are in the car pool line.
3. Cars will be stopped at the entrance to the the curb line to allow for all students to enter vehicles and exit safely.
4. Your child will be directed to walk safely to their vehicle that should be stopped along the curb.
5. If you are stopped at the entrance to the car pool line, you will be the lead car that should pull all the way up to the first cone . DO NOT STOP WHERE YOUR CHILD MIGHT BE STANDING.
6. PLEASE STAY OFF YOUR CELL PHONES DURING CAR POOL PICK UP.
7. Watch for the traffic ushers who will be wearing orange vests to direct you when in the curb lane.
8. IF THE BELL RINGS AND THERE ARE NO LONGER ANY ADULTS AT THE CURB, PLEASE PARK YOUR CAR AND WALK YOU CHILD INTO THE BUILDING.
We understand that waiting in a long line is frustrating, but we have to think of the safety of our students and staff members. We appreciate your support with these new procedures. Please call Mrs. White at 574-271-8598 or email her at lwhite@phm.k12.in.us if you have any questions.
