Dear Winter Park Band families,
Great job and thank you for your time to everyone who participated in the volunteer band at the GMS Spring Concert on Friday. Mr. Brannock, Mr. Dekle, Mr. Smith, and I are hoping this is the start of a fun annual tradition for our community!
WPHS's Physical and ECG Night will take place on Monday, May 22. If you cannot make it to Monday's event, there has also been an ECG Night scheduled on May 25 at Glenridge MS. Also on the evening of Monday, 5/22, the Maitland Middle School Band will hold their Spring Concert in the WPHS Auditorium. Please come out to support our future Wildcats in their final performance of the school year!

New York Tour Mandatory Meeting 5/23
The New York Tour Mandatory Meeting is THIS Tuesday, May 23 from 7 - 8 PM. This meeting will cover all essential information for the trip from the final itinerary to what to pack. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all student participants and chaperones. If a parent of a student participant is not chaperoning the trip, at least one of each student participant's parent/guardian must also be present.

Program Ads and Sponsors Fundraiser 2023
Hello WPHS Band Families!
We have officially kicked off the season for selling ads in the Winter Park High Band program! If you are not familiar with this program, the Winter Park Band Concert Program features pictures of the Band as well as information about the band’s instructor and members. The program is distributed free at all concerts throughout the school year and includes local business ads, student dedications and sponsorships purchased by local businesses and families.
It is important you understand how purchasing or selling an ad in the band program can help you save money. Any ad sold by your student can help defray your financial obligations to Band. Once payment for the ad is received, the student’s Band account will be credited with 60% of the ad revenue that he/she sells, depending on the Band’s printing cost.
Here's how selling just one ad can benefit you:
- Sell a full-page ad ($325) to your kid’s orthodontist? You’ll get an estimated $195 credit on your band account.
- Celebrate your Senior with a ½ page student dedication? While the ad will cost you $175, you will then get a credit back of roughly $105 that can go back towards your payments to band.
Summer break presents the opportune time for your student to seek out band advertisers. NEW THIS YEAR: Any student who arrives at Band Camp in July with an ad sold will receive a surprise reward at camp.
Packets containing information about this program were distributed at Mini-Band Camp and Band Registration Night. You can also access these forms on the WPHS Band website by clicking About>Band Boosters. All files are located under the section Program Ads and Sponsors 2023.
Please note: Revisions to the Ad Form have been made this year to collect additional information from our advertisers. Please be sure to use this form for any ad purchase. Also, the Do Not Contact list has been revised since packets were handed out last week. Please reference the new list found on the band website.
The deadline for selling or purchasing an ad is Friday, September 15, 2023.

Physicals(all students) and ECG (new students only)
- What do I need if I am a new student? All new WP Band Students must have an up to date physical and an ECG report dated after April 1, 2023.
- What do I need if I am a returning student? If you were in the WP Band in the last school year, 2022-2023, you will only need an up to date physical. The ECG you had done last year is good for the remainder of high school.
- Is the physical an annual requirement? Yes, having an up to date physical will be a requirement from here on out.
- Is the ECG an annual requirement? No. Once you have a clear ECG it will be valid for your entire time in high school.
- Where can I get a free physical? OCPS offers free physicals to students through their school nurse. You can contact our WPHS Nurse Nancy Mooney at nancy.mooney@ocps.net to schedule an appointment.
- Are these requirements the same as athletics & ROTC? Yes, completing the physical and ECG process will clear you for Band, athletics, ROTC, & dance team.

BAND REGISTRATION - Join the Band!
Registration Step 1
- Complete the 2023-2024 Band Registration Google Form
Registration Step 2
- Make the $25 Registration Payment on either the below SchoolPay.com link or by check made out to WPHS Bands.
- Make the $80 Band Camp Meals (optional) payment on the below SchoolPay.com link or by check made out to WPHS Bands.

- If you are an incoming 9th grade family, be sure you are not logged in to your student's current SchoolPay account when making online payments. The "data flip" at the county level placing your student at WPHS will not happen until early August, and logging in will take you to their current middle school SchoolPay page.
Registration Step 3
- Complete the forms in the following 2023-2024 Band Registration Forms packet that applies to your student's main instrument and return the completed and signed forms at Band Registration Night on Tuesday, May 9.

Before Band Camp
- All Band students must have an up to date Physical and a valid ECG on file with the school before Band Camp.

Viewing your Student's Financial Account in CutTime:
There is a direct link to CutTime in "Quick Links" on the band website.
To access Cut Time, follow these steps.
- Go to CutTime.net and click “SIGN IN” in the top right-hand corner.
- Enter your Username or Email and Password You are now on your profile, where you can access our calendar and handouts and files. Click “Update Info” tab to input or update contact information. Don’t forget to click “Update” when you are finished.
- Click the “Finances” tab to view financial statements.
