January 11th - 15th
A Message from the Principal
Please allow me to take a moment to express my gratitude for all that you do for our school, our students, our families, and one another. I hear it and see it all of the time: staff members lifting each other up. It appears that when one of us is down, another sees and steps in to offer words of encouragement. I hear horror stories from friends who work in other schools and other fields of industry about how staff members are brutal toward one another. I am thankful to see our staff on a daily basis holding each other up with smiles and kind words of encouragement. Thank you for EVERYTHING you do!

Whiting Field Trip (2nd - 5th Grades)
Thursday, Jan. 14th, 10:15am-12:30pm
1241 East Kearsley Street
Mr. Hieshetter has planned a fabulous opportunity for our students to see a performance at the Whiting. Have a wonderful time at this event!
Don't forget to make sure your lesson plans are dropped to the shared drive by Monday mornings at 8am. Thank you to everyone giving me a heads up when there are changes or there is some uncertainty of where the students will be. I enjoy seeing the activities you have planned for the students! I see many see-think-wonder and turn & talks being built in. There is also excellent incorporation of Leader in Me. Keep up the great work!
Quarter 2 Conferences
Parent teacher conferences will still take place on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 and Thursday, February 11, 2016 with a full day of school on Friday. There is 100% attendance requirement for this round of conferences as we will be presenting M-STEP data to the parents. Please see me if you have any questions.
Special Education Grades and Report Cards
Students who receive special education services should still receive grades on their report cards. Please make sure to mark in the comment section "Modified Curriculum" to ensure knowledge of this to the parent or anyone else who may need this information. We will be discussing this at our next grade level meeting. It is important these are correct for the next set of report cards. Thank you for your cooperation on this.
