PBIS Update
We are finding that an important part of a successful team is rapport. Team members need to feel like they are part of something important and have comradery with the other members. Beck Elementary is supporting this goal by naming their team and using it as a means of supporting important goals on campus in addition to behavior. #TrueBlueCrew If you are not part of one of the campus PBIS teams, but find yourself interested in being part of something very important on campus, please let me know. We are looking to fill in the gaps in grade levels on some campuses, and Beck is looking to include creative and fun non-team members in the next phase of developing PBIS on campus. Please let me or your PBIS team members know if you are interested.
The next step for Beck is to incorporate PBIS into academic expectations and rewards since there is very little negative behavior on campus.
This week, Granger is putting down stop dots in all hallways to give a more cohesive place for students to stop while traveling the hallways.
Lakeview is anxiously awaiting PBIS team training which will start on December 4th! We are so excited about this training on Tuesday!
Stop Dots give students a common place to stop in the hallways - reducing traffic jams

RTI for Behavior Info
For example, students whose inattentive, impulsive or hyperactive behavior are impeding their ability to learn, may qualify for 504 supports even without a medical diagnosis.
RTI for Behavior follows the same expectations as RTI for Academics. Data should be collected for two weeks, and presented to your Behavior Intervention Specialist for support and suggestions on interventions to increase appropriate behavior while diminishing inappropriate behavior. Once these interventions are implemented, data may be collected for another two weeks, any further strategies implemented should have two weeks worth of data before the next step is taken. Once all tier one supports are in place and it is clear that a student needs tier two supports, the teacher and BI should sit down and collaborate on necessary tier two supports, put them in ESTAR as a draft, as ask the AP to schedule an RTI meeting. More information on this process as well as data collection sheets can be found at https://www.nisdtx.org/departments/student_services/student_support_services/RTI/behavior/
You will need to log in to the district website to access this material.
Be proactive! It is your job to contact the BI with your concerns. It is also your job to turn any necessary documentation back in to them for the process to work.
