Class/Teacher Placements
***Reminder- There are many contributing factors that go into the making of classes. The personality of the student and teacher, how many students are receiving additional services, how many boys and girls are in the class, the academic levels of the students, the behavior levels of the students, additional services students need, which students had a tough time getting along with specific students the previous year, which kids socialize more when they're around specific students, the involvement level of the parents, the personalities of the parents etc...
Therefore, we don't accept change requests. Any changes would not only affect the child and the teacher's classroom they're moving to, but it also affects other students, the schedule of the support needs of students, the culture of the new class, and may have an effect on the teachers schedule itself.
We suggest for parents to do a few things if they have concerns:
1.) Meet with the teacher with an open mind to voice your concern. Be very specific.
2.) Understand that in elementary school we're preparing children to be able to adapt to multiple teachers with different personalities. This is excellent for the social development of the child.
3.) Establish a communication plan with the teacher in regards to providing updates on the area(s) of concern.
4.) Most importantly, understand that we all have the same goal; for your child to receive a stellar education, in a safe and nurturing environment, and for them to reach their full potential.
Student-Parent Handbook
The CCUSD Wellness Policy mandates that classroom celebrations that involve food during the school day must be limited to no more than one party per class per month. To be organized by the classroom teacher.
It is preferable for the birthday child to bring a book to donate to the classroom library or some other educational activity for the class.
NO FOOD TREATS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE CLASSROOMS.

Front Door Safety Procedures
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well. As we continue to prioritize the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors, I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding our school office visitation procedures.
Beginning August 23, 2023, we will be introducing a new procedure for visiting the school office. This new process will involve the use of a video intercom system and electronic access control devices to ensure a streamlined and secure experience for all visitors.
Here's how the procedure will work:
1. Video Intercom System: Our school office doors will remain locked at all times. When you arrive at the school office, you’ll notice a video intercom system located near the entrance. To request access, simply press the designated button on the intercom.
2. Communication with Office Staff: Once you press the intercom button, you will be connected to a member of our office staff. Please clearly state your name, the purpose of your visit, and the
person you wish to see. Our staff member will assist you and verify your information.
3. Electronic Access Control: Upon verification, the office staff will remotely grant you access
through the locked doors using electronic access control devices. Please wait patiently as the
doors are unlocked for you.
4. Check-In Process: Once inside the office, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff
members. TO enhance our visitor management, we will be utilizing the Raptor Visitor
Management System for check-in. You will be asked to provide a valid ID, which will be scanned into the system for security purposes and a visitor badge will be printed.
Please be aware that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are of utmost
importance. As such, our office staff reserves the right to refuse entry into the office to any
individual whose visitation request raises concerns about the safety and security of our school community.
We understand that these changes may represent a departure from our previous procedures,
but we are confident that they will help us maintain a safer and more efficient environment for
everyone. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work together to
ensure the well-being of our school community.
Please note that this new procedure aligns with our ongoing commitment to enhancing security measures and maintaining a positive educational experience for all. If you have any questions or concerns about the new process, please do not hesitate to contact our school office at 310-842-4338 or caseychabola@ccusd.org
Sincerely,
Mr. Casey Chabola

Backpacks for Kids Program Helps Food Insecure Families for FREE
Backpacks for Kids Program Helps Food Insecure Families for FREE
Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) believes that no child in our community should go hungry or have food insecurities, especially on weekends when students don’t have access to school-sponsored breakfast and lunch. The Culver City Council PTA, in conjunction with CCUSD, provides students in need with a backpack filled with non-perishable food and snacks each week to ensure that every child can eat on the weekends. There is no cost to participate and enrollment is 100% confidential. Each week, filled backpacks will be available for pickup. You or your child, simply pick up the backpack and take it home. Backpacks will not be returned each week; your student will receive a new backpack each week. Enrollment is ongoing so any child in need can sign up for the program at any time throughout the school year. If you would like your student to receive a weekly backpack, sign up here or complete a form in your school office.
