Brook Haven Middle School, November 2019 Edition

Feeling Thankful!

During this November, we reflect on the many things we are thankful for here at Brook Haven. In the office, we are grateful for the excitement and enthusiasm the students they bring with them each day. We appreciate our teachers and staff and all of their hard work and dedication to our students and school. We are thankful for our community members who shower us with donations, supplies, time and support.

We also have great gratitude for our students and their families. During the last month, we have raised over $1200 to support Mr. Hanni after the loss of his family home in a fire. Our Interact students have taken the lead on a jog-a-thon to collect pledges to support various local & international charities such as the Sebastopol Rotary Superplayground rebuild, Ceres Community Project, Earle Baum Center for the Blind and the Anthill Foundation. Canned and dried goods were also collected at the dance & in classrooms for a food drive to support our local food pantry. We are proud of our Warriors and the empathy they have for others!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break.

See you in December!

Fall Team Day

November also brought a wonderful opportunity for all of our students to participate in our Team Activities. Students met in groups that included members of all grade levels with a teacher to participate in a Door Decorating Contest as well as a Team Scavenger Hunt. These activities are fun, collaborative times that we all look forward to. The challenge is on this year- each team trying to earn enough points for a special lunch party!

Lost & Found

As we enter into the winter months, please remind your student to stop by the office to check out the lost and found. There are often many sweatshirts and jackets waiting for their owners to collect them.
