November Newsletter

Belle Aire Intermediate

Dear Belle Aire Families,

It is officially November!! We are quickly approaching Thanksgiving break!!! The weather in Ohio is so unpredictable, please remind our young people to bring coats, hats, gloves, etc. to help them stay warm when they go outside for recess. Our goal is to go outside for recess as the weather permits.

Our teachers are working hard everyday to help our students grow academically and socially. As a building our focus area for PBIS is Respect. We have worked and will continue work diligently on what Respect looks like toward peers, adults, our building, and in the community. Your support with this matter is greatly appreciated!! Thank you for what you do to support our school district and our young people!!

Mr. Cartwright and Mrs. Haithcock

Shout Out!!!

Belle Aire would like to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to third grade for their hard work on the Ohio State Test (OST) this week!!! Keep up the great work!!

Belle Aire PBIS Information

Students have just over 25 school days to earn an additional 130 points from the end of last quarter in order to participate in the quarter two incentive party! If they earn 130 points they will have the opportunity to enjoy a movie and popcorn. A reminder of how students can earn points:

  • Students will earn 3 points a day from their Homeroom teacher if they are present (not tardy or dismissed early) and following the expectations that have been in place since the beginning of the year.

  • We shared these expectations with families during parent meetings before school started and students hear these expectations daily.

  • They can earn 1 additional point from each of their other teachers a day for following the same expectations.

  • Students can earn additional points in any other setting (classroom, hallway, special, lunchroom, playground or bus) to help add to their total.

  • Students will not be required to “purchase” the party, instead teachers will be checking the number of points earned during the quarter.

  • Students that are absent will be unable to earn attendance points, but can earn points if they complete missed assignments in a timely manner.

  • Students that do not earn the points needed to earn the celebration will be meeting with a teacher to discuss/learn replacement behaviors or to complete work that has resulted from missed instruction.

A copy of the second nine weeks behavior contract is attached for you to reference. Your young person should have brought this home to share with you. Please let us know if you have any questions.
