California Healthy Kids Survey

Hey Doyle families!

Every year our school participates in the California Healthy Kids survey.

The CAL-SCHLS (healthy kids) survey system is the most commonly used and reliable school survey, covering topics related to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, bullying, and other health issues such as school climate and student resiliency. The survey will be administered from May 1-28, 2021. These surveys will support and guide efforts for Multi-Tier Systems of Supports, Integrated Youth Services and our baseline data for High Reliability Schools (Level 1). Enhancing Positive School Climate and creating systems of prevention will continue to guide our District’s CAL-SCHLS data collection, data dissemination and integration. By filling out this short survey our school receives valuable feedback. Please take a few moments to take the survey here:

Returning to Doyle Elementary

We have already started the enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year. Knowing how many students are planning to return in August is critical to ensuring we have the right number of teachers and classrooms prepared for our students’ arrival. For us to effectively plan for student enrollment and staffing for the 2021-2022 school year, we request that you fill out this form for each of your students. Please complete this form by Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Weekly Wellness Tip from the Counselor

Weekly Wellness Tip

A good guideline is to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces per day. If you already do that and are looking for a challenge drink at least 120 ounces per day!

Don’t forget to increase your water intake if you are exercising or during hot temperature days. Lastly, here are some helpful tips to make sure you drink enough water each day:

  • Infuse your water with lemon, cucumber, lime or mint
  • Keep track of your bottles of water drank by keeping rubber bands around your water bottle
  • Drink at least 8 ounces of water before you eat a snack or meal
  • Fill up a gallon jug of water each day and pour from that each time you need more.

Memorial Day Weekend - NO SCHOOL

School will be closed Friday, May 28th through Monday, May 31st. School will resume on Tuesday, June 1st.

Level Up SD: A Summer of Learning and Joy is expected to help thousands of students recover from months spent indoors and apart from their teachers and friends

"The San Diego Unified School District and The San Diego Foundation announced a new summer learning and enrichment program that will serve thousands of students from across the city. These students spent months indoors and apart from their teachers and friends due to the global pandemic, so the goal of this new program is to help them level up for next year through a summer of learning and joy."
