ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN UPDATE!
In this season of giving thanks, we want to say thank you so much to all of you who donated to the 100 Annual Giving Campaign at CCMS! Thanks to your generosity we raised $37,747 to date, which is 94% of what we raised last year.
That’s amazing considering the pandemic and its impact on our community and the economy. You gave with gratitude for our amazing school and in support of our students, teachers, leaders and all staff who are working so hard through this challenging time.
Thank you for making it possible for PTSA and Panther Partners to continue to fund teacher supplies, our WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) program run by the counseling department that nurtures leadership in our 8th graders as they mentor 6th graders, academic support including for our English language development program, special education program, AVID college readiness program, college night program, choir and music programs, awards and incentives for students, 8th grade activities, awards, and graduation, cultural engagement activities, and technology.
For those of you who donated $250 or more, your #CULVERPRIDE blankets are en route and if you gave your address they’ll be shipped directly to your house in early December – otherwise they’ll be delivered to the school where you can pick them up (we’ll notify donors once they arrive for pick up).
Giving Tuesday is around the corner so keep CCMS in mind then and know that donations are welcomed anytime (if year-end or tax return time is better). This community’s support and investment in our school is a huge part of its success – thank you! Donate 20-21

A Mental Health Message From the Del Amo Behavioral Health System
While this year’s holiday celebrations may look and feel different, there are still ways to enjoy them.
Holidays can be joyful, but they also can be stressful. Not everyone enjoys this time of year and 2020 brought new challenges for many. In addition to the normal holiday blues, some may feel more isolated, fearful and lonely and perhaps are still struggling with anxiety about the future.
The good news is… these challenges can be overcome. For example, teleconferencing can make it easier to connect with loved ones who live far away or are restricting social interactions. This can be an opportunity to find perspective and focus on what is important.
Mental health tips for navigating the holidays:
· Try to keep a positive outlook.
· Think about what triggers you and avoid it if you can.
· Focus on the traditions that you enjoy — celebrate in ways that are not stressful.
· Keep your commitments at a comfortable level.
· If money is a concern, keep your spending in check.
· Take care of yourself — maintain proper nutrition and sleep.
· Find new ways to exercise, such as dancing to your favorite holiday music.
· Don’t be afraid to seek support from family, friends or a professional.
If you know someone who is struggling with heightened depression or anxiety this season, the professionals at Del Amo Hospital are here for you. Call us at 800-533-5266 for a no-cost assessment. For more information, visit www.delamotreatment.com
Yearbook Needs YOUR Pictures!
Dear Parents,
My name is Audrey Rothenberg and I am one of this year's yearbook editors. Due to Covid-19 we are unable to take photos. We would love it if you could send us pictures of your kids doing school activities like sports, homework, art, projects and more. Please send the pictures to yearbookadvisor@ccusd.org.
Thank you for your time and cooperation,

2020-2021 Backpack Program Sign-Up
Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) believes that no child in our district should go hungry or have food insecurities, especially on weekends when students don’t have access to school-sponsored breakfast and lunch. The Culver City Council PTA, in conjunction with CCUSD, provides students in need with a backpack filled with non-perishable food and snacks each week to ensure that every child can eat on the weekends.
