Abby's Closet
FREE PROM DRESSES AVAILABLE!
Abby's Closet would like to thank you for helping to promote our 16th annual Abby's Closet Prom Dress Giveaway at your school. Abby's Closet collects formal dresses throughout the year and each spring distributes them, FREE, to high school-aged students. Our mission is to inspire confidence and respect in high school women by providing free formal gowns for prom and other memorable events. This year's event will be held March 14-15 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
For some students, getting a free dress from Abby's Closet is the only way they're able to attend prom, an important celebration and rite of passage. But we're also more than a dress - or really, more than the 25,000 dresses we've given away so far - because we're just as focused on sequins and satin as we are on education, confidence, and inclusiveness. We empower high school students to learn leadership skills through our Student Advisory Board. We award a college scholarship each year. We're welcoming to people of different gender identities, abilities, and sizes. The goal of Abby's Closet is to make every participant feel special, beautiful, and confident.
We look forward to providing information about our Prom Dress Giveaway over the next several weeks. Please contact us with questions at info@abbyscloset.org. For more information on Abby's Closet please visit our website at www.abbyscloset.org.
Again, thank you for your help in promoting Abby's Closet!
Warmly,
The Abby's Closet Outreach Team

Kudos
Thank you to Ian Ogden, Allison Harn, Gene Chism, and Casandra Kamens for your work with freshmen and keeping them on track. The team recognized a group of students that were having trouble staying focused and acting out with behavior in class. In a team effort we identified the students that needed a behavioral intervention and met with them separately, identified what wasn't working well, highlighted desired behaviors, offered student voice and developed a behavior contract for each student. I am excited about the energy and passion this group has for doing important work to keep our freshmen on track. As Gene pointed out to Ian later after we had meet with each student "I bet you are trending on Snap Chat right now!" So true. That is exactly what we want. Free advertising. Go team!
From Lance Eagan to Bill Krei - Bill Krei helped me out with some wood working in order to create templates for our cereal box project. His generosity and team spirit were on full display. What took him 20 minutes would have taken me 4 hours and about 18 mess ups. Thanks Bill!
