Freshmen Family Welcome

This is our only shot to perform for ALL of the incoming freshmen students at Saint Ignatius. It is arguably our most important recruitment event of the school year. Our performance and attendance is quite important.

Call time for all members will be at 6:15pm. Everyone should be dismissed around 8:15pm; approximately when the event is to end. Attire will be white band polo shirts. Jeans/Khakis are both fine.

State OMEA Competition

After looking at our options regarding participating, I have gone ahead and signed the Symphonic Band up to participate. The critical comments from the judges are fantastic ways for us to become a better band, and for me to become a more effective director. While the schedule will not be released for a few more weeks, I can guarantee that the band will perform on Saturday, April 25th, in the morning. I have requested an 8-9am time slot, and believe we will be granted a time very near to this.

The event is at Glen Oak High School in Canton --- transportation and donuts will be provided to the Band. This is a required event. If a known conflict exists, please let Mr. Hamlin know as soon as possible!

Notre Dame College Summer Music Camp

Notre Dame College is starting a Summer Music Camp for high school students this summer. It's a phenomenal way to continue your musical growth outside Saint Ignatius, with great faculty to work with. The program costs $400, and includes Chamber coachings, masterclasses, lectures, and performances given by the faculty. Students also receive a t-shirt and assistance in preparing for college auditions.

The camp runs from Monday, June 8th - Saturday June 13th, and goes from 8:30am - 2pm each day. There are scholarships available for students to apply for. When more information is available, I will relay it to students. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
